Play Levels & Assessment
Play Levels & Assessment
Play with equally skilled and motivated players is typically the most satisfying. To ensure members are able to play comfortably and effectively improve their pickleball skills, the Club operates a progressive level system based on Pickleball Canada's 2-digit rating scale.
New members who have never played pickleball will be assigned a Club Level after completing three Beginner Sessions. Experienced players will be assigned a Club Level of 2.5.
If you think you're ready to be assessed for higher level play, you should first review the Pickleball Canada Skill Level Guidelines to ensure you're prepared to showcase the necessary skills.
The Club aims to provide a consistent, transparent approach to assessing player skill levels.
All assessments are 1-hour. You will receive a scorecard within 7 days (sample on CourtReserve).
To be successful, you will need to demonstrate:
consistency in shot-making;
control over your shots;
the ability to execute various volleys while managing the pace and direction;
the capability to make strategic decisions during gameplay.
If not successful? You can work on areas needing improvement and request a reassessment after 4 months.
